Supplemental Benefits
Supplemental plans pay direct cash benefits that help cover out-of-pocket costs your major medical plan may not fully address. At CIENEL we explain your options in English or Spanish.
What are supplemental benefits?
When a major diagnosis or hospitalization happens, your primary health insurance covers medical bills — but there are many other costs it does not address: transportation, lost income, home care, deductibles, and copays. Supplemental insurance pays cash directly to you, so you can focus on recovery instead of finances.
These plans are not a replacement for your primary coverage — they work alongside Medicare, Marketplace, or employer insurance to provide an extra financial safety net.
Cancer Insurance
Cancer insurance pays a lump-sum cash benefit upon diagnosis — money you can use however you need: travel for treatment, experimental therapies, household bills, or simply maintaining your financial stability during a difficult time. Some plans also cover chemotherapy, radiation, and hospital stays related to cancer treatment.
Given that cancer affects one in three people in their lifetime, this coverage is one of the most requested supplemental products among our clients.
Heart Attack & Stroke Insurance
Heart attack and stroke insurance pays a lump-sum benefit upon diagnosis of a covered cardiac event or stroke. The cash can cover costs your health insurance does not — rehabilitation, home modifications, transportation to specialists, or simply replacing lost income during recovery.
Cardiological events are among the leading causes of hospitalization in Florida. This coverage provides a direct financial cushion exactly when uncertainty is highest.
Hospital Indemnity
Hospital indemnity insurance pays a fixed daily cash benefit for each day you are admitted to the hospital, intensive care, or a rehabilitation facility. Unlike traditional health insurance, there are no network restrictions and no approval requirements — you receive the benefit regardless of what your primary coverage pays.
For Medicare beneficiaries with a hospital copay on their plan, hospital indemnity can directly offset that out-of-pocket cost.
Ambulance Coverage
Ambulance transportation is one of the most common unexpected out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare beneficiaries. Depending on your plan, you may still owe a significant copay or coinsurance after Medicare pays its share. Ambulance coverage pays a benefit to offset that cost — so an emergency does not become a financial burden on top of a medical one.
Surgical Insurance
Surgical insurance pays a benefit upon an eligible surgical procedure, helping to cover the deductibles, copays, and other costs your primary insurance does not fully address. Benefits typically scale with the complexity of the surgery — from minor outpatient procedures to major operations.
This coverage is especially valuable for people with high-deductible plans or for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries who face per-day hospital copays.
